Q & A

Where do I RSVP?

On the home page of our website.

When is the RSVP deadline?

April 15, 2026

Can I bring a guest/date?

All guests are specified by name on the invitation. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate additional guests.

What's the attire / dress code?

Semi-formal. Ex:

  • If you wear dresses, a tea-length, midi, or knee-length dress would be appropriate.
  • If you wear suits, you can opt for a dress shirt and slacks, paired with a blazer or sport coat. Suits are welcome, but no need to wear a tie!

We recommend wearing flats or wedges as the ceremony will be held outside on uneven ground.

What time should I arrive?

Please aim to be here by 4:40 so you have time to get settled before the ceremony.

How big is this wedding?

Pretty small! We wanted to throw an intimate gathering for our closest loved ones. Our wedding could be considered a “micro wedding” or an elopement with extra steps.

Can I take pictures and/or post to social media?

During the ceremony, we kindly ask that you refrain from taking any pictures as we will have our photographer present to capture the moment. During the reception, feel free to take the occasional photo, but please be mindful to not obstruct our photographer. After our photographer leaves (around 8 pm), you are welcome to take as many pictures as you’d like. And yes, sharing on social media is totally fine!

What is the closest airport?

Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids is the closest major airport (~50 miles away).
Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport is located approximately 57 miles away.

What lodging and hotels are nearby?

We recommend staying in the Saugatuck / Douglas area as it is very close to the wedding venue and has many cute shops and cafes. It also has a very welcoming and fun atmosphere and is worth checking out.

Some specific examples we recommend:

  • The Kirby Hotel is a charming Victorian hotel with a highly-rated restaurant inside (7 minute drive to wedding venue).
  • BeachWay Resort & Hotel has a fun, kitschy vibe and waterfront views (11 minute drive to wedding venue).
  • Pines Motor Lodge & Retro Gift has a retro, cozy, and fun energy for someone looking for a more unique stay (8 minute drive to wedding venue)

Note: we just included hotels in the above list, but there are tons of vacation rentals in the area as well.

What is the parking situation?

If you take Lakeshore Drive towards the house, you will reach the intersection of Lakeshore and 123rd Avenue. Turn left and you can park along the side of a quiet gravel road that is about a 3-minute walk from the house. There is also sometimes parking available in the parking lot at Pier Cove Park (free).

Butler Street in Sagatuck is a scenic street lined with plenty of cute botiques.

  • For the plant lover, Pudding Stone is a plant shop that offers "make and take" workshops.
  • Articles is an aesthetic clothing store with a fun vibe and unique goods.
  • You can check out The Book Nook if you're a fan of cozy book stores.

  • Get caffinated at any of the area's unique shops such as Uncommon Coffee Roasters, Outside Coffee Co which also has a cool little shop inside, or Respite Cappuccino Court which has an art store attached.
  • If you are looking for tasty treats, you can check out Isabel's Market + Eatery for authentic Italian groceries / ready-to-eat meals. For our friends with a more adventerous palate, head to Borrowed Time whose menu ranges from Bulgogi Lettuce Cups to Smoked Salmon & Waffles 🤤. But if pizza's more your speed, you should try Noble Twist Taphouse's Newhaven style pizza.
  • Wash all of this down with a drink at one of the area's unique bars and taprooms. Saugatuck Brewing Company has two tap rooms and tons of intriguing brews to taste. If you prefer your microbreweries to have a theme, you should try The Mitten Brewing Company which has a baseball theme and gourmet pizza. Or for a more chilled out vibe, New Holland Spirits is a great place to stop off for a night cap.

I have another question not listed here!

Feel free to reach out directly to the bride or groom and they will be happy to assist you. Or perhaps it's in our less frequently asked questions page (probably not)!
